( Christian Dior)For Spring 2014 , Raf Simmons tried to create something modern in Dior. I feel that there is this new forward movement actually with all the designers lately in most of their shows... For example there is a great trend of double breasted jackets and vests that are in all collections as well as this feel of a different shape of elongation and progressive architecture in most garments of 2014. Raf Simmons is continuing of this trend but he actually took the old " dior flora " look and created a surreal vision. Taking a bit of the old dior silouhette in the gowns with a slight modern twist towards a newer vision for Dior.. A vision of slogans written on garments and bar like fabric feel on pleats of skirts.. There was a sort of " alice in wonderland feel" especially of the floral patterns on the couture as well as the ambiance of the runway was all lush of green details and flowers.
